Eliezer’s Shopping Trip

What a shopping trip! Though Scripture does not name him Bible students believe that Eliezer was Abraham’s most–trusted servant, the one chosen to travel to the homeland to select a bride for Isaac (Genesis 24). Eliezer departed for Mesopotamia with a caravan of treasure. As the camels swayed under the dessert sun, questions flooded Eliezer’s mind. In unfamiliar territory how would he find the city, the family, and the perfect girl? What promises would convince the girl’s father to send her away with a stranger? Would Isaac be happy with the choice?
Eliezer’s prayer of faith asking God’s direction on such a weighty decision bears further scrutiny. Do we come to God for guidance all the while believing in His power to answer? Or is our asking more of a formality? Read the article on Eliezer. Learn firsthand how this faithful servant worded his prayer and the steps he took to complete his mission.
