Today for lunch I went outside the box. I almost always take lunch from home which is usually packed by my adoring wife and for the most part has the same contents and is eaten in the same order day after day. I am an engineer, ok, not a food critic.
Today I ate my sandwich then went on an adventure. Maybe this is common in larger cities but have you ever eaten food from a lunch truck? I did today. It was Klausie’s Pizza and the guy parks his truck and sells fresh made pizza out the back. He asked if I had tried his food before and when I told him I was brand new he handed me a couple of chunks of cheese to taste then told me how he makes his pizza:
- A thick crust comes first which was crispy and tasted great
- Next to that is a thick, and I do mean thick, layer of cheese
- topped with tomato sauce (who knows what was in there but is was sweet)
- several slices of pepperoni.
The whole slice was about 4 by 8 by 1 inch thick and I used two napkins getting through it and enjoyed every bite.
Our company does not have a lunch facility so to be “green” and help people avoid driving out every day for lunch they are trying to bring in several food vendors like this. I will continue to bring my lunch but wanted to support the team and help get the profits up for our first lunch experience so other vendors will come. Thought I would try it and I am glad I did.
Maybe your company will bring in the Grilled Cheese Bus next!
Oh sounds good. I have not heard if the first vendor made enough to entice others to come and visit.
That sounds sooo good. Let me know when you want me to meet you for lunch so I can try some! ;)
Sounds like yummy pizza. Good for you, getting out of the box.
