Michelle’s deck garden is taking shape. She’s commented how relaxing it is to invest a few minutes watering her plants after a hectic day. The living room is now arranged so her spot on couch has a line of site to the Hanging Gardens. I think she has named some of her plants and she certainly has a green thumb.
If you need to review the original article you can find it here: Container gardening. We have added a few extra screws to the shelves to address some wobble issues, but the system is working.
The deck boxes were described in this article: boxes. Michelle personalized them. She used stencils, added Titebond wood glue, and let it dry. She stained the finished product with a dark stain and the designs really pop.
She is using her dining room table as a work bench. I think we better get her garage shop set up before tragedy strikes.
The plant boxes rest on the rails with the drain holes facing the yard. I added a couple of 2” deck screws through the supports into the rail for safety.
We took a road trip to Lowe’s for a late July raid of the garden shop discount rack, and we have an instant garden!
Doesn’t that look like a great place to sit and talk?
